Council acknowledges our duty of care to all persons who may be at our workplaces, including contractors, sub-contractors, volunteers, employees (Workers), visitors and the general public. Council has an obligation to ensure that people and the natural environment are not exposed to hazards or damage and that a safe workplace is provided so far as is reasonably practicable.
As per Councils Contractor Management Policy and Procedure. To become an Approved Contractor of Council you need to firstly contact the Adelaide Plains Council to commence the registration process and or go through Barossa Regional Procurement. Once you become an Approved Contractor of Council the online WHS contractor induction is to be completed. The On Line WHS Contractor Induction is provided as a general guide and will assist you in setting a standard for safe work and minimising risk. All contractors /suppliers must ensure that WHS legislative compliance is met through their own management systems.
Council requires its contractors (excluding subcontractors) to complete an online induction every 2 years. To complete the module you will need access to the internet and a printer if you wish to print a certificate. This training will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you have questions on completion of the induction, please refer to your Council Representative or Superintendent.
The Contractor Induction is a 3 Step Process:
- Complete the on-line induction modules assigned to you.
- Print out the certificate at the end of the induction or take a screen capture.
- Provide the certificate to your Council Representative or Superintendent.
