⛔ The road closure is in place from 4.30pm to 9pm on 26 April.
🚗 Please detour via Redbanks Road to Marshman Street or Joseph Street to Elizabeth Street.

Preferred Contractors

Preferred Contractor Registration

The Adelaide Plains Council engages contractors and suppliers for various reasons and projects throughout the year. Council requires copies of numerous documents to ensure they are engaging qualified and appropriate contractors to supply or deliver works on behalf of Council. This process allows Council to create and maintain a preferred contractor register who provide varied services.

Should Council wish to engage with a supplier, an authorised officer will commence communication to record them on our register. However, at times, Council are approached by companies who wish to be considered for any upcoming opportunities to supply to Council. The information on this page relates to both engagement processes and how to register to be considered for Councils Preferred Contractor Register.

To commence the process, please complete the Preferred Contactor Registration Form and provide copies of any and all of the requested documents your company has on file. Below is a list of documents that may be require prior to commencement of any works for the Adelaide Plains Council.

  1. Preferred Contractor Registration Form (request by emailing info@apc.sa.gov.au)
  2. Contractor WHS Online Induction (takes approx. 30 minutes)
  3. Public Liability Insurance Cover (minimum limit $20 million)
  4. Professional Liability Insurance Cover (if held)
  5. Evidence of Return to Work SA Registration (sole traders are exempt – please supply personal income protection insurance policy)
  6. Copies of Employee licences (e.g. electrical), competencies (e.g. bobcat) and certifications (e.g. white card, professional certification) relevant to the works to be undertaken
  7. Copies of WHS Polices or Procedures/Safe Work Instructions relevant to work to be undertaken
  8. Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
  9. Copy of plant registration (Cranes/Elevated Work Platforms)
  10. National Police Clearance (if requested)

On commencement, your Contract Manager will undertake the following with you:

  1. Review the Preferred Contractor Registration Form
  2. Site Specific Induction
  3. Hazard Identification for Activities Form

Contractor Work Health & Safety

Council acknowledges our duty of care to all persons who may be at our workplaces, including contractors, sub-contractors, volunteers, employees (Workers), visitors and the general public. Council has an obligation to ensure that people and the natural environment are not exposed to hazards or damage and that a safe workplace is provided so far as is reasonably practicable.

Council requires its contractors (excluding subcontractors) to complete an online induction every 4 years.
