APC Releases Draft 2020/2021 Annual Business Plan and Budget for Public Consultation

Adelaide Plains Council (APC) has released its draft 2020/2021 Annual Business Plan and Budget for public consultation.

“Our Annual Business Plan and Budget for 2020/21 is quite different from what we expected six months ago. The standing down of millions of working Australians, the closing of nonessential businesses, restrictions on gatherings together with the uncertainty this all brings has demanded a strong review of services, rate impacts and revenue streams by Council,” said Mayor Mark Wasley.

Commending Council for their diligence during a difficult time, APC Chief Executive Officer, James Miller, said, “In presenting the draft Annual Business Plan and Budget to the elected body, I was mindful of the financial pressure our community and our business sector is currently facing. To that end, what has been presented and adopted for public consultation is a lean budget with significant cuts to non-essential services, projects and labour. I commend elected members for the manner in which they have presided over consecutive budget deliberations with difficult influencing factors - valuations in 2019 and COVID-19 in 2020.”

Council welcomes community feedback in relation to the draft documents. Written submissions will be accepted from 13 May 2020 until 5pm on 2 June 2020 and can be lodged via the following methods:
