Council Elections

Update

The Local Government elections previously scheduled for November 2026 have been deferred to April 2027 following changes to State legislation.

Council elections are your opportunity to represent your community.

As a council member, you can help create a future that you and your community can be proud of and enjoy. If you are passionate about your local community, willing to work as part of a team, keen to learn and make a difference, nominate for a position on Council.

From managing waste to building roads, and maintaining parks, local councils play a vital role in shaping the places we use and enjoy every day. Working alongside their communities, they help improve the overall liveability of an area.

Whether you visit your local library, grab a coffee at the local café, or play sports at the ovals, the upcoming local council elections give you a chance to have your say and help make your community an even better place to live.

Adelaide Plains Council elects 1 Mayor and 9 Councillors.
