Two Wells Community Fund grant recipients announced

Adelaide Plains Council and Hickinbotham have awarded a total of $21,436 to support the projects of six community groups, in the Two Wells Community Fund’s 8th grant round.

What a worthwhile funding initiative this grant has proved to be. Within our Plains community are the small groups, the volunteers, the people who work tirelessly for their people. The list of projects all help our groups prosper and survive. These amounts do really make a difference.

Congratulations to the recipients:

  • Anglican Parish of Two Wells

Encouraging existing and potential church-goers to attend services during extreme hot summer weather conditions.
  • The Plains Community Group
Sensory panels in the Two Wells Main Street playground – $6,075
Sensory play equipment will promote children’s development of sensory processing, cognitive skills and emotional regulation.
  • Two Wells Community Centre
    Ceiling remediation – $5,720
Installing perforated corrugated iron over the existing straw ceiling to reduce potential fire hazards.
  • Two Wells CFS

Security cameras will assist the club to ensure that their buildings are protected.
  • St Joseph’s Catholic Church
Kitchen hot water service – $1,000
A number of local community groups use Gregory Hall, and a kitchen hot water service will enhance its amenities.

The Two Wells Community Fund Committee met on 7 July 2025 to review applications and determine recipients. Members supported all projects, and all community groups will match their grant either financially or with contributed volunteer hours.

‘It is pleasing that, once again, the Two Wells Community Fund has been able to support a range of valuable projects covering many facets of the local community.’ said the Hon. John Dawkins, Chairperson.

Hickinbotham representative Ruth Vagnarelli added, ‘We believe the Two Wells Community Fund contributes to making a stronger and more connected community and we are proud to play a role in supporting local initiatives that make a difference.’

An official presentation is planned for late September 2025.

This year, the Two Wells Football & Netball Sporting Club will also receive their $30,000 grant from the 7th funding round in 2023, which was subject to the club also receiving a grant from the State Government’s Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing. This grant will assist with the installation of new light towers at the Two Wells Oval, enabling teams to train and play under AFL-compliant lighting.

The Two Wells Community Fund was established by Council under the Two Wells Residential Development Deed (2012) with Hickinbotham Group. Since the fund was established, just over $147,000 has been allocated to provide financial support to 30 community projects.
