Two Wells Town Centre Code Amendment
The Minister for Planning has approved the Proposal to Initiate for the Two Wells Town Centre Code Amendment, allowing Leyton Property to progress the formal Code Amendment process.
The Code Amendment proposes to rezone approximately 5 hectares of land from the Recreation Zone and Employment Zone to the Township Main Street Zone to support the future expansion of the Two Wells Town Centre.
Proposed Code Amendment
Council previously resolved that it had no objection to Leyton Property progressing the Two Wells Town Centre Code Amendment.
The Minister for Planning has now approved the Proposal to Initiate, with Leyton Property responsible for progressing the Code Amendment process.
The initiation approval allows further investigations, infrastructure planning and community engagement to occur. It does not approve the proposed rezoning. A final decision on whether to approve the Code Amendment will be made by the Minister following completion of the Code Amendment process.
Council will continue to be involved as a stakeholder as the investigations and community engagement progress.
The approved Proposal to Initiate and Minister’s initiation approval letter are publicly available on the PlanSA website.
